Plaud Note Pro is a compact recording device that integrates an AI model in the cloud, connecting directly to the Plaud application on the phone to convert voices from meetings, workshops or events into systematized and beautifully formatted notes.

Instead of using too powerful AI models, Plaud chooses to use a model that is just enough to unpack and organize information, allowing users to develop their own workflows based on that foundation. These are just my first impressions after a few hours of holding the phone. I have not thoroughly tested the recording and call recognition features. Compact, convenient design

Holding Plaud Note Pro in my hand, I feel it is only equivalent to a credit card, weighing 30g and 2.99mm thin, making it extremely light to put in a pocket, always present without causing any bulkiness. Operation on the device is also simple, just press and hold to start recording and the device will vibrate once, press and hold again to stop with 2 vibrations.

I find this convenience very reasonable as you only need to press one button to start recording instead of having to hold the phone, unlock the screen and select the notes application like before.

Battery life and recording capabilities

According to information from Lau, Plaud Note Pro can maintain operation for up to 50 hours in endurance mode, or about 30 hours in enhanced mode.

Regarding sound recording ability, the device is equipped with 4 MEMS microphones to help record sound better than a phone, especially the ability to record sound at a longer distance and cancel environmental noise more effectively. However, I have not tried this recording feature in practice so I cannot accurately evaluate the sound quality. I will test it more specifically and share the results with you guys later.

Automatic call recording mode

One feature that I think is quite cool is the ability to turn Plaud Note Pro into a call recorder when you attach it to the magnet cover and clamp it on the back of the phone, applicable to both iPhones and Android models that support magnets.

Its operating mechanism is also quite simple, the sensor inside the device will detect that the phone vibrates when there is an incoming call and automatically activates the recording feature specifically for that call, you do not need to do anything further.

However, because I have only held the phone for a few hours, I have not yet tested the call recognition sensitivity and the ability to automatically turn on the recording feature. I will test this in more detail and share in the next article.

AI price and subscription package

The price for Plaud Note Pro ranges from 5.4 to 5.7 million VND, this is the cost of the recorder hardware. When you buy the device, you will be given 300 minutes of free AI recording per month, then if you want to continue using this feature, you need to purchase an additional subscription package. The Pro package costs about 2.2 to 2.6 million VND per year, while the Unlimited package allows unlimited recording time for about 6 to 6.2 million VND per year.

Because the device has 64GB of storage memory, you are not limited in time or file size. Only when you send files to the app to have AI translate, summarize or create templates will that count towards the other 300 free minutes.

Compared to direct use on the phone, for example, Galaxy AI on Samsung lines also has similar recording and processing capabilities although the operation is somewhat more complicated, Plaud's subscription price is considered quite high. In particular, 300 free minutes per month may not be enough for users who regularly go to events, workshops, meetings or interviews, especially for press reporters. Therefore, if you work as a reporter, regularly conduct interviews or travel on business, it is necessary to consider upgrading to the Pro or Unlimited package. The specific level of necessity will depend on each person's workflow.

In the Plaud application, you can search and use many different templates. Plaud also divides templates for different career fields, or for different needs in each specific field.
