Segway introduces three new lines of electric motorbikes at EICMA 2026 including Orca Concept, X Series and X cruiser, expanding the portfolio from urban to off-road and high-performance vehicles.

From technology foundation to professional electric motorbike

Since pioneering self-balancing mobility technology in 1999, Segway has continuously expanded the boundaries of smart mobility, while accumulating capabilities in intelligent control, electric drive, battery management and comprehensive on-board connectivity. Entering the professional electric motorbike sector is not simply about expanding the scale of existing products, but rather combining existing technology platforms with new expertise in aspects ranging from powertrain, body structure, suspension and brakes to legal certification and testing in harsh environments. Three key product orientations

The three product directions announced this time answer three questions in turn: what will future electric motorbikes look like, how will professional control capabilities be proven in real-life environments, and how will technology improve the daily travel experience. This high-performance large electric scooter integrates an 800 V high-voltage platform, CTB chassis and CDC multi-mode suspension system, with technical targets including a travel distance of 300 km and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Hardline27, the company founded by Sasha Selipanov, collaborated on the styling; AGIBOT participates in interactive demonstrations.

X Series – Challenge and discovery

Aimed at extreme terrain and rallying, the X Series includes Xaber X1000, Xaber 350, Xaber 300 (USA), Xaber 300 DS (Europe) and Segway Michelin becomes the official technical sponsor of the Segway Dakar Rally Factory Team, providing specialized tires and technical resources. The two sides used the long-distance, high-intensity conditions and diverse terrain of Dakar to jointly research and verify the durability, reliability and energy efficiency of tires on electric off-road vehicles.

Segway X cruiser – Technology and humanity

The model applies automotive safety thinking to two-wheelers, with crash protection, standard blind spot detection (BSD) and lane change warning (LCW). Technology integrating the battery into the CTB body supports a travel distance of nearly 200 km. The European version has 4.5 kW AC Type 2 fast charging, while the Chinese version has a higher capacity DC fast charging option. The vehicle integrates intellectual property rights and exclusive two-wheeled technology licensed by BMW Group, has mass production plans and is expected to launch in China and Europe in the period 2027–2028.

Expanding capabilities in four aspects

Through these three vehicle lines, Segway expands professional electric vehicle operating capacity in four aspects: technological upgrades, from lightweight design and intelligentization to transmission, chassis, brakes and professional safety systems; Expanding usage scenarios, from daily travel to street driving, off-road and rally driving; build a closed verification process between the laboratory, street, off-road and racing; and ecosystem development, including technical sponsorship cooperation with Michelin, as well as cooperation with AGIBOT and Hardline27 in the field of interaction and design. Segway Orca Concept was only introduced as a concept product; Mass production, market launch and specific configuration of other vehicle models will be based on the main announcement.
