Many leading domestic and international experts, officials, and business leaders in digital technology will attend Digital Week 2026, in which Minister Vu Hai Quan will chair the Ministerial Roundtable.

Vietnam International Digital Week 2026 (VIDW 2026) takes place from October 28 to 30 in Quang Ninh. The event, hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, is expected to gather 500 domestic and foreign delegates, including leaders of digital technology management agencies of many countries, international organizations and technology businesses.

According to information from the organizing committee, the Digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ministerial Roundtable took place on October 28, chaired by Mr. Vu Hai Quan - Minister of Science and Technology of the host country, Vietnam.

The conference is expected to have the participation of representatives of 10 countries' regulatory agencies and the European Union (EU). There are also 9 speakers from international organizations, institutes, schools and international businesses.

Among them, the US and China sent ambassador-level representatives; Australia, Burundi, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar had representatives at the deputy minister level, while Japan, Korea and the EU sent representatives at the director general level to attend and speak at the opening session.

In the second session, the speaker lineup expanded with the participation of regional heads of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Global Mobile Association (GSMA). In addition, leaders and experts from Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, Qualcomm, Cisco, VNPT and Ho Chi Minh City National University also attended.

Here, delegates will discuss the topic of developing and mastering strategic digital technology, data, computing capacity, digital infrastructure, mechanisms to promote research and development (R&D), technology commercialization, as well as safe and responsible AI governance.

An inter-regional dialogue session on improving AI capacity was held in the afternoon of the same day. Experts will update the results of the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, share experiences and propose policy recommendations for the international dialogue process in 2027.

Vietnam International Digital Week was initiated in 2019. This is one of the most prestigious annual forums on digital technology cooperation in the region. This year, the program lasts three days, with the theme "Developing smart connectivity: AI governance, Creating AI transformation", with trend and policy dialogue sessions, combined with digital technology display and demonstration activities.
