From 8:00 a.m. on October 23, iPhone Duo - Apple's first folding screen iPhone - began to be sold and delivered to Vietnamese customers. CellphoneS opened for sale simultaneously at more than 180 stores, Di Dong Viet returned the first devices to pre-ordered customers, Topzone said it delivered 1,800 devices on the first day, and Viettel Store opened for sale throughout the system.

The device has 4 memory versions: 256 GB priced at 64,999,000 VND, 512 GB priced at 71,499,000 VND, 1 TB priced at 84,499,000 VND and 2 TB priced at 103,999,000 VND. On the same day, Di Dong Viet organized an experience and open sale session at 80 Tran Quoc Thao, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, with customers, KOLs and technology reviewers participating.

In terms of design, the device has a 7.6-inch internal screen that folds out like a book and a 5.4-inch external screen for use when folded. The body is 5.2 mm thick when opened, 11.3 mm when folded. The inside has a nano-texture coating, while underneath is the A20 Pro chip, the processor that determines the speed of the device, and two 48 MP rear cameras. The device uses Touch ID on the side button instead of Face ID, and only supports eSIM, without a physical SIM tray.

Initial stock sources vary between systems. Di Dong Viet is expected to only meet about 2.5% of the total number of interested customers. The reservation portal of this system opened from 7:00 p.m. on October 16, and only about 5 minutes later, the 256 GB and 512 GB versions were fully booked. CellphoneS said the 1 TB and 2 TB versions were also sold out in a short time. In the opposite direction, Viettel Store representative said that this morning the system delivered 99% of the first batch of pre-ordered devices to customers, the number of devices arrived was more than expected but the specific number was not announced.

The 256 GB version is the most popular choice. According to Di Dong Viet, this version accounts for 72% of customers choosing, followed by 512 GB with 20%, 1 TB with 5% and 2 TB with 3%. Starlight White leads with 55% of registrations, Night Sky color accounts for 45%. Doan Van Hieu of Topzone shared data calculated on 1,800 devices delivered on the day: about 60% are 256 GB versions and 70% are white. CellphoneS also recorded that Starlight White color accounts for about 70% of interested customers.

Among those who received calls on the first day was Mr. Khiem, who lives in the old Go Vap area. He is using OPPO Find N5 and bought an iPhone Duo to experience, partly because the OPPO device's screen ratio is not optimized. His initial impression was that the screen was rough, had good viewing angles, and was sharper than he imagined when viewing it online. The contrast, according to him, is not as high as the OPPO Find N5, but in return the rough screen gives a more comfortable touch feeling, less fingerprints and harder to see creases.

An anonymous customer, who received the device at Di Dong Viet, said she chose the color Sky Night because this color makes the device look thinner. She mainly uses the device for selfies, so she thinks the current rear camera is more than enough, and her main purpose is to watch movies on the big screen. She used many other brands but sold them after a while because she got bored. This time, she hopes to stick with them longer. She also hopes the iPhone Duo will have more colors in future generations.

Regarding incentives, Di Dong Viet said that customers who buy iPhone Duo from October 23 will receive a maximum discount of 9.5 million VND, depending on applicable conditions. The old and new renewal program subsidizes the price by up to 5.5 million VND. Customers who price their old machines first can keep the price for 7 days. In addition, customers receive an additional discount of up to 4 million VND depending on the payment method. Buyers pay in installments for a maximum term of 18 months, 0% interest rate, and no conversion fee. The system supports free eSIM conversion, compatible with major carriers, quite necessary because the device does not have a physical SIM tray. Customers who purchase other products in the Apple ecosystem can receive incentives of up to 8 million VND; Apple Watch Series 12 alone is reduced by 300,000 VND, some accessories are reduced by up to 20%.

At CellphoneS, customers who book before participating in the program receive a discount of up to 5 million VND or receive a wired charging version of AirPods headphones. Payment by credit card or linked e-wallet will receive an additional discount of up to 3 million VND. Installments also have a maximum term of 18 months, 0% interest rate. SMember members receive an additional discount of up to 5% when purchasing machines and accessories, along with a subsidy of up to 1 million VND when the old model is released. Accessories purchased together, including cases, stickers, charging cables, spare batteries, audio devices and AppleCare+ extended warranty packages, are up to 20% off. Viettel Store, from October 23, applies a discount of up to 18 million VND when buying iPhone Duo.

CellphoneS said that batch 1 will be delivered in order to customers who pre-order from now until the end of October.
